I know, the name of this smoothie is super cringe, but it popped in my head and had a nice flow and I just went with it. Truly though, this smoothie is packed with ingredients that make you feel good and are beneficial for healthier, glowing skin! So we will stick with the cringe in the name of health and deliciousness!

I always forget how perfect avocados are in smoothies, but they really are perfection. Avocado adds thickness and creaminess, but the flavor is mild enough to blend in well with other ingredients. I promise it does not taste like you are drinking of glass of guacamole!

To make the You Glow, Girl! Smoothie, you will need:

  • Avocado – avocados are packed with vitamin E and monounsaturated fats that keep your skin nice and hydrated.
  • Spinach – leafy greens like spinach have beta-carotene and vitamin E which help to protect your skin from damage!
  • Mixed Berries – berries like blackberries and blueberries are packed with antioxidants and vitamins and can assist in ridding the skin of toxins.
  • Pomegranate juice (OR fresh orange juice) – pomegranates are also packed with antioxidants called polyphenols. In fact, they have 3x the amount of antioxidants than green tea!
  • Almond milk – to add creaminess to your smoothie!

Recipe Tips and Suggestions:

  • I used a frozen berry mix that had blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. I chose these because of the skin benefits of blackberries and blueberries, however, you can swap this for whatever mix of frozen berries you have on hand or prefer to use.
  • I try to use an avocado that is on the smaller side. This recipe serves 2 (or makes 1 large smoothie if you are really hungry) and while avocado has great healthy fats, just keep in mind they are high in calories if that is something you are trying to be mindful of!
  • If you only want to make one serving, you can save the other half of the avocado by keeping the seed attached to the other half and place into a baggie and store in the fridge. It may still brown a tad, but it should save for the next day.
  • You can also add in your favorite protein powder and/or collagen powder.
  • Other add-ins that are good for your skin: walnut butter, dark cocoa powder, or citrus fruit juice.
  • Although I realize these can be quite pricey, having a high-powered blender will really improve the texture of your smoothies, especially when blending greens like spinach. I have a Vitamix (affiliate link). You can use whatever blender you have, but just note the end result may not be exactly as pictured.
