To make the base, we mix old fashioned oats with chopped pecans, sliced almonds, hemp seeds, and ground flax. Then, we toss everything together with melted coconut oil, real maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.

The maple syrup and coconut oil coat all the oats and nuts, helping them bake up nice and golden. Plus, adding hemp seeds and ground flax gives every bite a fantastic boost of healthy fats and fiber without changing the delicious cozy flavor!

Ingredients for Homemade Maple Pecan Granola

The Oats and Nuts: Old fashioned rolled oats form the hearty base of this recipe. We toss them with crunchy chopped pecans and delicate sliced almonds. This combination gives you a fantastic bakery-style texture in every bite.

Wet Ingredients: Pure maple syrup adds natural sweetness. Melted coconut oil helps the oats crisp up beautifully in the oven. A splash of vanilla extract and a generous dash of cinnamon bring all the cozy autumn flavors together.

The Super Seed Boost: Hemp seeds and ground flaxseed add a subtle earthy flavor and extra nutrition. They stick to the oats as they bake, adding a great texture while keeping this recipe super nourishing.

Tips for the Best Maple Pecan Granola

Press It Down Firmly: Spread your granola out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer. Then, use the back of a spatula to press it down firmly before baking. Try to avoid overstirring it while baking. This helps create those big, crunchy clusters everyone loves!

Bake Low and Slow: Bake your granola at a lower temperature (275°F). Stir it gently just once halfway through baking. Watch the nuts carefully near the end because pecans can go from perfectly toasted to burnt very quickly. If you do not want to add almonds, you can just use pecans or also swap with walnuts.

Let It Cool Completely: Resist the urge to stir the granola as soon as it comes out of the oven! As the maple syrup and coconut oil cool down on the pan, the granola will harden and create those delicious, crispy clusters once you start scooping it up.

Storage Guidelines: Store your cooled granola in an airtight glass jar or container at room temperature. It stays super fresh and crunchy for up to three weeks. You can also freeze it in a sealed bag for up to three months!
