Iced Apple Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
Making your own Iced Apple Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is so easy and will save your wallet! A simple homemade apple crisp syrup shaken with creamy oat milk and espresso. This drink can be enjoyed at home all season long!
I have an unpopular opinion. I do not like the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Sorry. I just don’t care for it. The times I have tried it, it tastes sort of burnt? It’s also way too sweet for my liking. I’d rather make my own at home with actual pumpkin puree.
Now what I do enjoy is the Iced Apple Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. I love the apple flavor and it’s not overly sweet. I’m always down to figure out how to make my favorite coffee shop drinks at home and this one was a winner. Best of all, this homemade version is much easier on your wallet!
The apple brown sugar syrup is really easy to prepare and you can make a large batch at once so you can enjoy it all week long. The syrup is made with a base of apple juice (or apple cider) which you will reduce on the stove for a bit along with brown sugar and some additional spices. This syrup would also make for a nice hostess gift for the holidays packaged in a nice bottle with a bow and tag!
To make an Iced Apple Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, you will need:
- apple juice (or apple cider)
- brown sugar (you can use light or dark)
- cinnamon
- vanilla extract
- espresso
- oatmilk
Recipe Tips and Suggestions:
- You can use either apple juice or apple cider for the syrup. Apple cider will already include spices like cinnamon so you can add a bit less if desired if you don’t want an overwhelming cinnamon taste.
- The apple syrup should be prepared in advance. It will thicken as it cools.
- Love to give homemade holiday gifts? Make a big batch of the apple syrup and package it in a pretty bottle with ribbon to give out this holiday season!
- If you prefer your coffee hot, heat and and froth the oat milk and mix in with fresh brewed espresso and the apple syrup to make a latte.
- Feel free to swap the oat milk out with almond or regular milk if desired.
- I recommend storing the syrup in the fridge to maintain the freshness.
