Toddler Cookies

Today is all about the little ones. They need tasty snacks too, right?! I’ve told you guys how my toddler is really picky. I never know if she is going to eat what I make her and about 90% of the time, she just wants to be on the run and sitting down for a meal or snack is just not a priority for her. Enter these little toddler cookies!

Toddler Cookies

These cookies are packed with lots of good stuff like oats, almond butter, applesauce, honey, and even chia seeds! I call these toddler cookies, but I have to admit that even I enjoy grabbing one for a quick and healthy snack! I do want to note these cookies have more of a muffin-like texture than your normal cookie recipe. You can also add in dried fruits or nuts if you want, whatever your little ones would like!

These toddler cookies are made with nutritious ingredients like oats, almond butter, and chia seeds and are sweetened with honey instead of sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 medium to large ripe banana, mashed
  • 3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup; can adjust if desired)
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or with a silicone mat.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the applesauce, mashed banana, honey, almond butter, and the vanilla until well-combined.
  3. In another bowl, add in the oats, baking powder, flour, cinnamon, the salt, and the chia seeds until everything is well-combined. Gently stir in the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Use a large cookie scoop or drop about 2 tbs. of the batter onto the cookie sheet for each cookie. Gently press down on the top of each one to flatten just slightly. Bake for about 10-13 minutes or until the cookies are slightly golden.
