Storybook Baby Shower (free printable)

Update: I get a lot of emails about the printable featured in this post. First, we’re glad you all like them! The printable can only be used as is, they are not editable. If you are wanting to use different foods with the covers, it is actually very simple. Perform a Google Image search for the book cover(s) you want. Find the highest resolution photo you can of each cover and save on your computer. You can then use Paint or a free website like PicMonkey to add your own text!

This past weekend I was in L.A. to help with my best friend, Crystal’s baby shower. The theme she wanted to do was a storybook theme! I love a theme that centers on such an important topic: reading! Overall, this is really a pretty easy theme to work with whether you want to do it for a baby shower or a birthday party and you don’t have to spend a ton of money on the decor since all you really need to do is print out signs for the food. Most of it will go towards the cost of the food. This shower started at 3pm, so we only made finger foods since it was in between mealtimes which not only makes prep work a lot less painful and it also will save you money.

So, let’s get to some pictures!

For Peter Rabbit, we did a simple veggie tray and served them alongside 3 different kinds of hummus. Ranch dip would also be great to serve.

Please excuse the caramel container. We had a short window to set up at the church hall and people started arriving so we just had to get the caramel on the table!

For the punch, we just mixed Sprite and raspberry sherbet in a nice punch bowl! Pinkalicious!

The centerpieces were also very simple. Books were just wrapped in brown paper bags and stacked and were then topped with some flowers. If you happen to have a lot of children’s books handy, you could probably just skip wrapping the books. We also sprinkled some confetti on the tables around each stack of books and on the food table. Since Crystal doesn’t know the gender of the baby, we used pink and blue confetti.

And here’s one last shot of the happy parents-to-be! Seriously, how adorable are they?!

    • Karen, you can find the photos online and just print them on card stock. You can also try scanning the covers, but I don’t know how the quality will be.

  10. Are these printables available some where? Super cute!

  13. Thank you! :)

  14. Is there any way to get these printables but be able to edit the meatballs and goodnight moon covers? I am using this theme for my friends shower but i’m not using vegetarian meatballs or PBJ’s

    • Hi Jill, Unfortunately, this is just what my friend sent. What you can do though is just download high res photos from a Google Image search of the covers you want and then just type or write on them yourself. Hope that helps!
