Turkey Club Pasta Salad
Club sandwiches are one of the most popular sandwiches out there. What’s not to love about them? Turkey and/or ham, lettuce, tomato, cheddar, mayo, and of course bacon and all stacked between three slices of toasted bread. Simple and delicious.
I realized two weeks ago that summer is somehow basically here which means it’s time for all the fun summer BBQ recipes and sides. I took the club sandwich and instead of the bread, turned it into a simple and delicious pasta salad! I only used turkey in this version, but obviously, you can also mix in some ham. I also left out cheese, but of course, some cubed cheddar or colby jack cheese would work really well in this pasta salad!
Like most pasta salads, I recommend prepping this one the night before you plan to serve it so it has time to cool and for the flavors to meld together. One tip – I like for the bacon to stay as crispy as possible since I’m all about texture. If this is you too, store the bacon separate overnight and stir in when you are ready to serve it.
Recipe Tips and Suggestions:
- I recommend making the pasta salad the night before, or at least, a few hours before you plan to serve it so that it has time to chill.
- I used only turkey in this recipe, but you can also add ham if desired.
- Some cubed cheese is also a good addition – cheddar or colby jack would work well!
- You can use other types of pasta for this recipe, but I like elbow macaroni since its the “classic” pasta shape for macaroni salads.
- Feel free to add in other fixings like chopped broccoli or olives.
- If you prefer for the bacon to be more crispy, prepare just before serving or store in a separate bag or container and stir in just before you plan to eat it.
- You can also stir in some thinly sliced romaine lettuce for a pop of green and since it’s usually included in a club sandwich. Up to you!
