A Very Special Announcement
Ok, so I’ve been holding back on you guys and I just can’t take it any longer. Perhaps you have noticed that since March, things have been a little different around here. I haven’t been posting as many recipes and not always on the same schedule as I used to normally post.
But see, I have this major life thing that has been going on that’s been throwing me off.
Have you figured it out yet? If not, maybe this will help:
Yup, that’s a baby! We are so excited to announce that we are expecting a sweet baby GIRL this November!!
It has not been easy keeping this a secret from you guys for so long, but I’m so paranoid about everything, I just wanted to wait for a while. I am now 21 weeks and can’t believe we are already halfway through!
While I consider myself much luckier than most considering I never really got sick, I was in a constant state of nausea for a while during the first trimester. As you might imagine, feeling nauseous doesn’t go well with food blogging. I lost interest in blogging and just wanted to sleep all day long. And I couldn’t stand to look at certain photos that I had shot a month previously. Just opening them made me feel so sick and I pretty much lived on saltines, ginger ale, and chicken noodle soup.
The second trimester has been much easier. As long as I eat my meals in a timely manner and pack a lot snacks for the day, I am good to go! I do have some days where I am extra sleepy and have to go to bed early and I also have to pee every 10 seconds. I haven’t been able to sleep through the night in weeks since I constantly have to get up to pee. I guess I should consider this training for when baby comes?! Feeling this sweet little babe moving around has been so much fun. I think she might be a future gymnast!
Anyway, I will do another post soon with more deets about how things are going, but I’m so excited to finally share this big news with you all! This blog is not going anywhere and I am going to do the best I can to continue to post at least two new recipes a week. Because of all of our summer travel and a few work trips I have coming up, I have been feeling a little behind, but I have so many things I want to make and share with you guys! Stay tuned and thank you for your support!

Yay!! I am so excited for you and your hubby! A baby girl…What joyous news! :)
I totally understand the wanting to sleep and rest your first trimester… I was the same with baby no. 1 too. I sucked on a lot of lemon and ginger to keep my nausea at bay.
I am so happy you are feeling better and enjoying food again. I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly and you can enjoy the eating part of pregnancy with all the cravings. :)
Sending you a big hug to you and your little growing bundle of joy.
xo Ramona :)

Congratulations!! I feel like we’re leading parallel lives because I recently earned my PhD in Psychology and am 23 weeks pregnant with a baby girl :) While I love your food blog, I’ll also be checking in now to see if anyone gives you good tips on pregnancy and motherhood. Isn’t the second trimester SO much better than the first?!? I am loving it! Good luck with everything and thanks for creating such a great blog :)
Too funny! Congrats to you as well! You might want to check out my blog’s FB page. I posted a question about baby registry items and got a lot of great suggestions. I’ll probably post more questions for readers throughout this process :)
