SlimKicker Fitness App and a Giveaway!
Happy Memorial Day, friends! Hope you all have some fun plans today filled with delicious munchies! We have a tropical storm headed our way! I think we’ll be doing some indoor grilling today!
Today, I’m excited to tell you about a fun, new fitness app that I recently discovered called SlimKicker!
When it comes to dieting, I find that I usually have the best results when I keep track of what and how much I eat. There’s a lot of sites and apps that track your food and exercise these days. While SlimKicker can track both food and exercise, one of my favorite things about the app is that they make getting healthy a game! We all have certain challenges when it comes to dieting and exercise. For example, are you a soda addict? Then you can sign up for the ‘replace soda’ challenge! You can also chat with other folks who are also completing the same challenge for support. When you complete a challenge, you earn points that you are encouraged to put towards rewarding yourself. Maybe get that hot pair of shoes you have been yearning for or go pamper yourself at the spa for a day! Some of the challenges on SlimKicker can also earn you some great prizes! If you have an iPhone, you can download the App. If not, you can also access the site online.
If nutrition is not where you struggle with meeting your health goals, they also have challenges for willpower, fitness, and even emotional challenges like relieving stress and getting more sleep.
I was recently contacted by the lovely folks at SlimKicker and they are challenging YOU to share your own ideas for a challenge! The person with the best challenge idea is going to receive this awesome Ozeri digital food scale!
In order to enter this giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment sharing your idea for a health challenge! For example, no dessert for a week. Or 50 sit ups a day for one week.
If you want to see some examples of other challenges on SlimKicker, click here. In order to win this giveaway, you must come up with a new challenge idea that is not already listed on their site.
– This giveaway will be open until next Sunday, June 2nd at 11:59pm EST.
– This giveaway is open to US residents only.
– The winner will be chosen by the folks at SlimKicker.
Disclaimer: I was contacted by SlimKicker to host this giveaway. I did not receive any monetary compensation for my review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Your giveaway is a good one, I have a scale and it is very useful. Pretty amazing the difference between weighing flour and the scoop/sweep method with a measuring cup. The measuring cup can have a lot of variances. Good luck to the entrants.
I hope the storm fizzles out and the weatherman is wrong! Enjoy your grilled feast!
I have been meaning to get a scale for a while. It can make all of the difference when baking. One of my favorite tricks is to brush my teeth after every meal. When you have the fresh minty feeling in your mouth you aren’t going to continue munching.
Yikes a storm… stay safe and dry! My biggest challenge is my own blog. Since I started this blog I am more obsessed with food than ever. Of course tasting testing everything is always a challenge to leave it a one bite. :) Cooking more healthy options like you do is the best way I find to eat what you love and not worry about the rest. Good luck with you giveaway!
Just like Ramona said, my biggest challenge is my blog + portion control issues. I like to make dessert for my blog, but having a whole pie at home isn’t a good idea for me either!!
Great giveaway! Hope you’re enjoying the long weekend~
Walk at least 10,000 steps a day. Sometimes it’s easy to get sucked into the computer and forget to move around. And moving around in the kitchen while making cookies doesn’t count!
Great giveaway Steph! Good luck to everyone! :)
Such a cool idea! Truthfully, I work out and eat healthy because it makes me feel good and relieves stress in my life, not because I need to lose weight. But I love the idea of a challenge to make it to the gym or work out a particular number of days in a week. There are definitely still days I need an extra kick to get to the gym after work, but always feel better after I do!
Wow, I just glanced through some of the challenges, and they have some really great ones! I think programs that help keep you accountable are great. To be honest, since we’ve moved, I haven’t exercised like I used to or been as good about my diet. I would love a program that incorperates exercise into everyday activities (like climbing stairs or doing the laundry.) Great give away!
I am a HUGE diet coke addict, so a no-soda challenge would be perfect for me. Thanks for hosting the giveaway. :)
I’m still carrying extra weight from my last baby (who is 3.5 now -eek) and nothing helped me lose it better than P90X. It kills but it feels sooooo good!
I need a new scale so bad it hurts!
My health challenge is to eat at least 5 vegetables a day!
My health challenge is to shop at you local farmers market for all foods for 1 week.
Challenge: Swap out all your store-bought, preservative packed sweets and treats for fresh homemade options!
Great giveaway! Being pregnant Im not into dieting that much right now as I actually have to eat more calories! However, I have stopped eating refined sugar and cut back on salt intake which is a lifestyle I hope to continue after baby is born!
Going Vegan in one week. Plus working out 5 days in that week.
Hey Steph,
Cool giveaway! As all grad students know, sitting at a desk for most of the day is our biggest downfall. I recently heard a story on NPR by a health columnist, Gretchen Reynolds, that talked about the negative effects of sitting for long periods of time. Even if you exercise for the recommended 30 minutes a day, if your job requires that you sit most of the day then the result of not standing tends to cause physiological changes within your muscles that result in a myriad of consequences including sleepiness and weight gain.
My fitness challenge for the week is going to be standing and walking around for two minutes every 20 minutes while desk-bound.
Sounds simple enough, and studies have shown that frequent standing breaks significantly decrease your chances of getting diabetes, improves weight loss, and lessens your chance of heart disease. I attached the link below for anyone interested in the story!

Nice review and that’s a helpful app for diet and fitness goals.
