Purple Monster Smoothie
There is something about winter time that just winter that makes us eat less fruits and veggies. Most fruits are consumed in the form of pie and cookies. Not totally a bad thing, but you know, not so great either.
I think about 99% of America makes a resolution at the start of every year new year to eat healthier. While I always vow to do this, I especially do it right after the holidays because I know I have overloaded on loads of sugar, candy, and cookies so I have been trying to eat more fruits and veggies since the holidays, but I never feel like I am really getting enough so I have been trying to get more in though smoothies.
The first time I made a green smoothie years ago, I kind of wanted to barf. To mask out the taste of spinach, I used only an apple and maybe some pear and it just didn’t do it for me. After lots of tweaking, I came to realize that I was just not a green smoothie kind of gal.
So, what kind of gal am I? A purple monster smoothie gal (or a purplish brownish one, whatevs). I like berries in my smoothies. I’m okay with that.

I love the combination ingredients on this smoothie, unusual and healthy, sound delicious :)
this looks like the color of my smoothies. They are never green because I love adding berries just like you! Purple and brown smoothies all the way!!
So glad you agree! Us brownish purple smoothie girls need to stick together!
I think I’m still in the phase where I keep telling myself that I like green smoothies. Maybe I eventually will. But for now, this looks SO much better to me!
I highly recommend the berries! I don’t like most green smoothies because the flavor of the spinach is not masked enough. If I do have a green smoothie, it has to have a banana.
Wonderful smoothie! I love how healthy it is! Great after work snack!!
That is exactly what I plan to do when I get home from work today, Jennifer!
So delicious! All my favorite ingredients for a smoothie… love it!
I love berries in smoothies!
I used to make a green drink in my juicer that was spinach, cucumbers, carrots, apples, parsley and lemon. So I’m pretty tolerant of the green monster stuff. :) This does not look so scary… I would really enjoy this. Gotta try some chai seeds.. that’s new to me. :)
My kind of snack. :)
I love lots of berries in my smoothies!
Mmm, this smoothie sounds refreshing and filling. I’ve never had chia seeds. I’m on the hunt, now.
I don’t think I’ve ever actually made a smoothie. But i hear that chia seeds are crazy good for you. Looks lovely :)
I need to eat more veggies and definitely drink more smoothies like this! What a gorgeous smoothy. I think this is on my list for this weekend’s breakfast.
My family used to make an extremely unhealthy shake called grape apes. I haven’t made them in years because they are so unhealthy:-) I love your smoothie, and no guilt involved! Yum, Hugs, Terra
