Blueberry Lemonade
I think about really weird things when I watch tv or movies. I think about things that really don’t have any importance to the storyline, it’s just stuff that crosses my mind. Like on Game of Thrones, they show a lot of naked ladies and I always wonder how these women are shaving their legs. I mean, these people go days and days without showering, yet their legs are always so perfectly smooth.
We’ve been watching Mad Men on Netflix. We started last Thursday and we are already into season 2 (we are so lame…). There was one episode where they were all talking about how hot it was and they didn’t have air conditioning. I can’t even imagine. I like for it to be as cold as possible, especially at night. When the A/C breaks, I want to die. I know, I’m so dramatic.
So, this blueberry lemonade. It’s perfect for the summer heat, with or without A/C. I love any baked good that contains blueberry and lemons, so why not make one of my favorite flavor combos into a lemonade?! Making your own lemonade isn’t a lot of work and it’s so much better than the powdered stuff. And I’m not sure what I love more about this blueberry lemonade, the taste, or the gorgeous color!
Blueberry Lemonade
Blueberry Lemonade - made with fresh blueberries and lemon juice! So simple and perfectly sweet and refreshing!
Ingredients
For the blueberry syrup:
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
For the lemonade:
- 6-7 lemons (1 cup), juiced
- 5-6 cups water (you can also use sparkling water)
- 1 cup blueberry syrup (or to taste)
Instructions
- To make the syrup, heat a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the water and sugar. Once the sugar dissolves, stir in the blueberries. Bring the mixture to a light boil and continue to cook for about 5-7 minutes or until most of the blueberries have broken down, stirring every 2 minutes or so.
- Remove the pan from the heat. Pour the syrup through a fine mesh sieve. Discard the solids. Set the syrup aside and let the syrup cool completely.
- In a pitcher, stir together the lemon juice, water, and the blueberry syrup. Chill. Garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon slices if desired.

You live in Arizona, if your A/C Breaks in the summer you will be dead!
I heart you.
This looks seriously yummy. I am going to have to try it when the weather gets a little bit warmer.
Thanks, Helen! I hope you like it!+
I am miserable without AC! Ugh, I would die without it! Love your drink, it looks incredible and so refreshing!!!
I really would die without it! I would not survive if I lived in another time period, lol.
You have so many good lemonade recipes!!
Thanks, Claire! I love me some lemonade!
Your drink looks amazing! I have lots of blueberries leftover from Mother’s Day…which will be put to good use.
Thank you, Marjory! This would be the perfect way to use up extra blueberries! :)
Stephanie, this is beyond amazing. Lemonade is perfect in the summer, and that homemade blueberry syrup sounds out of this world!
Lol, I also think of weird stuff when watching TV shows. Like, how come on shows with teenagers, the parents always give them like, $100 for lunch? My mom has never given me $100 for anything, let alone lunch haha.
Haha! Yeah, or on the Walking Dead, they spend the entire season at the prison, but the grass surrounding it never grows or has to be mowed.
This recipe has definitely put me in a summer mood! I’m visualizing sipping a cold glass of blueberry lemonade on a shady porch…mmm…
I totally agree with you about the TV thing! Your post made me laugh :) The thing that bothers me is when there’s a character swimming… I can’t be the only one who holds their breath every time a character on a TV show goes underwater to see if I could last that long too!
Thanks, Em! I know, they always seem to be able to hold their breath for a pretty long time. Or another one of my favorites is when someone falls and they are hanging on a cliff or building. They are able to hold themselves up for at least 5 minutes. I don’t think so, people!
I’ve never seen a prettier lemonade. :) Blueberries and lemons go so well together! I would love a tall glass of this sitting by the pool right about now. If I was sitting by a pool, that is….
haha we’ve been watching Revolution and all I can think about is how are these people so clean? You live in a world with no power and you look like that? lol you’re not alone. And I love everything about this blueberry lemonade! I made strawberry lemonade last summer but I think I need to try blueberry next!
It’s already scorchin’ here in Texas and I can see myself making these really soon! They look so refreshing, Stephanie!
That is such a delicious change from regular lemonade :)
Yum!
Cheers

This loks so refreshing! Perfect for summer!
It’s so so pretty! Great shots too!
Drinks like this are so crazy beautiful! Looks so refreshing.
Hubby watches Game of Thrones… I watch Mad Men. :) So you could watch TV with use anytime. :) I do the same thing when I watch TV… I especially love how people are in full make up when they wake up…. maybe that’s just on my soap opera. :) Now this blueberry lemonade I totally believe and love…. the color is spectacular! :)
This sounds amazing and SO refreshing. It would be perfect for the 99 degree weather we are experiencing in Omaha right now!
So freshing!! We’ve had two days of summer so far in Seattle, I need a big tall glass of this to imagine what a real summer is like!
We don’t have AC. Yikes! I’m not sure how we’re going to fare this summer! Especially when the baby gets here. I imagine that a tall glass of this lemonade would help though! Thank you for sharing, my dear!
First of all, these photos are absolutely gorgeous!! And this recipe? Love love LOVE!!!
OMG! Yum! I am SO making this!
Thanks, Joleen! I hope you like it!

This looks so refreshing. We’re lame, too. I’ve been watching Downton Abbey. Frankly, I’d rather stay home than go out.
haha I laughed so hard reading this! I ALWAYS thing about those kinds of weird things too, and when I say them out loud I sound like a fruit loop! lol SO glad Im not the only one! LOVE this lemonade! so pretty and refreshing!

My daughter and I went blueberry-picking this week, and wound up with a TON of berries. We have lots of blueberry things to make, and we started with this. It turned out SO good – will be hopefully popping it up on my blog within a few weeks with a link back to you, of course!
So glad you guys enjoyed it!
