Homemade Taco Seasoning in a clear glass jar with a yellow napkin

You guys, did you watch the BCS National Championship game on Monday? If so, then you know that the Florida State Seminoles won! If you didn’t know this about me already, I am a triple alum of FSU and was so nervous about the game that I physically could not watch it. We watched the first quarter and the Noles weren’t doing so good and we turned it off. Then, I kept getting updates online or through family texts. In the last few minutes of the game, both teams were scoring back and forth and it was so intense. My husband wanted to watch the last minute of the game, but I couldn’t deal so I went and hid in the bathroom. Yes, I hid. Then I heard him shouting, “they scored!!”. With 13 seconds left. And won! AHHH!!! I didn’t feel too well yesterday to begin with, but after that game, I felt even worse. Seriously, who would think that a football game could cause such anxiety?! I woke up yesterday morning feeling like I was hungover even though I didn’t drink an ounce of alcohol the night before. Such an exciting game and I’m so proud to be a Seminole!

Ok, I will stop talking about football now so that we can talk about this homemade taco seasoning. I don’t know about you guys, but we go through a lot of taco seasoning in this house, particularly for making Crock Pot Ranch Chicken Tacos. But I love having it on hand for seasoning meat for any Mexican dish I make. Not only is it expensive to buy those pre-mixed packets, but they also contain other random ingredients that are not necessary! I’m willing to bet you probably already have most, if not all, of these spices in your cabinet already! It takes only a few minutes to mix this up and you can make as much or as little as you want! I’m done with those packets! Also, making my own spice mixes totally reminds me of those sand art craft kits from when I was younger, you know what I am talking about right?!
